The Islamic Republic of Iran calling Canada a threat for the international security said the government of Canada has had to take a “hasty” action to overshadow Iran’s success in the NAM summit.
In a statement issued on Saturday Iran said Canada made an effort to prevent the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran to turn out successful but failed and thus it had to take the hasty action against Iran to distract public attention from Iran’s victory.
The statement called Canadian government action “unprofessional, unconventional and unjustified” adding the conservative Canadian regime has been known and criticized at home for its extremist outdated policies.
Referring to Canada’s history in violation of human rights according to the UN report and its financial support for extremist groups in the Middle East, the statement reiterated Canada has turned into a threat for the stability and security of the international society.
The statement has also announced Tehran holds Ottawa responsible for the safety of embassy personnel and Iranian diplomatic places in the country.
Ottawa on Friday announced it has severed diplomatic ties with Iran, has closed embassy in Tehran and has expelled Iranian diplomats. Canada’s action took place under the pretext that Iran is a threat to global security for its nuclear program, its stances regarding Israel and its support for Syrian government in a conflict with insurgents. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised the action.
As the earliest reaction from Tehran to Ottawa’s measure, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast called the Canadian government decision to cut diplomatic relations with Iran “inexplicable”.
The extremist and racist government of Canada has overlooked its interests and obeyed policies dictated by the United States, Israel and Britain, he said while asserting that Tehran will respond to the measure.
